Illinois Valley’s Graphic Design Technology Program will prepare the you to communicate ideas and information to business and consumer audiences through the planning and creating of printed materials. As a student, you will be introduced to the techniques, processes, and basic compositional and conceptual skills of the graphic designer.
Graphic Design today is highly dependent upon digital technology and, in our MAC LAB, we provide training on the major graphics software programs (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop). Although the computer is the primary tool of the designer, a good background in traditional or fine arts is essential to our program.
Students receive individual attention and classes are supplemented by field trips and visiting lecturers, as well as links that help students make professional connections of their own for internships and job placement. Portfolio and formal resume preparation are also part of this program.
